Timing Is Everything

We recommend going solar quickly after you decide it is right for your family. Over the last several years, we have witnessed changes in utility rate structures, net-metering incentives, and rebate programs that made going solar “tomorrow” slightly less attractive than making the decision “today.”

Despite these changes however, solar still makes a lot of economic sense for many homeowners throughout Arizona, and Solar Topps is proud to have the opportunity to serve them. The key difference with our company is if solar does not make sense for you and your family, we will let you know. We are part of your community and value, honest and open relationship with our neighbors over a sale. So, even though “yesterday” was a better time to go solar, typically those customers that decide to go solar earlier in the year, between January and May, tend to be slightly happier with their overall experience.

By going solar in these earlier months, homeowners benefit in several ways:

1) Electric bills are generally lower during this time of year, which means while a customer waits to have their system installed, they are not paying very much to the Utility company.

2) Generally, fewer people decide to go solar during this time of year which means that there is less demand on available resources at Utilities, Cities, and HOAs (Home Owner Associations), enabling them to process applications much quicker. With quicker installs, most homeowners can have their systems operational before the summer allowing them to begin reducing their electric bills when it matters most, thus allowing them to begin saving sooner.

3) If taking advantage of tax credits and incentives is important in your decision to go solar, it is necessary to have your system installed and operational before the end of the year to claim your tax credit timely.
